MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The Latin popular music scene has been impacted by his international popularity. In 2016, his hit Una Lady Como Tu was the recipient of a Colombian Kids Choice Award for Most Popular Song in 2017. In 2017, he dropped ADN the first of his long-players in the name of La Industria Inc. in Medellin. The album made it to the 8th spot within the Top Latin Albums Chart. Vaina Loca was an instant Top Five hit for Ozuna and him the year after. In the year 2020, he teamed up with Noriel on Mala Influencia and then released her debut album Dopamina that year. In 2021, he performed in a duo with TINI for her streaming single Maldita Foto. The smash hit La Bachata from 2000 was first released in 2023. Turizo was born into a musical household his mother and older brother also are musicians. In interviews he has described his involvement in music as mandatory. At the age of a young child, he started learning to play the ukulele, saxophone as well as piano. The first choice for his career was to become a vet, but his brother Julian encouraged him to learn how to sing under the help of a Cuban instructor. In the end, realizing that he had the ability to sing, altered the direction of his life.
